With the January 2022 Windows update release many VPNs have stopped working. They wont connect.
The fix is to either upgrade to Windows 11, run a Microsoft hot fix or remove the patch.
Removing teh patch needs consideration because it fixes various vulnerabilities however it breaks the VPN.
To remove the patch:
- click on the Windows button
- type cmd
- right click on “Command Prompt” and select Run as administrator
- type “wusa /uninstall /kb:5009543
- follow the instructions.
