Radius authentication with Server 2016

  • First install the radius role on the Server 2016 server.
    Start server manager and click manage, add roles and features.
    Select your local server and then choose the network  Policy and Access service.
    This will suggest you also add the Role admin tools – select yes.
    Finally select install.

 

  • Open the NPS management window and right click “local”.
    Select the option to “Register the NPS server in Active Directory”
  • Enable PAP authentication.
    By default this is not enabled however MikroTik use it for Radius authentication requests.
