Casting to a TV

Hi Guys

All to often we want to use an affordable TV on the wall of the office rather than a projector setup. This can be done with most modern TV’s.

On a Windows 11 PC or laptop press the windows key and K together.

This will display a list of accessible displays. Click on the right one and follow the onscreen instructions (some times you have to enter a PIN on your PC before connecting).

On a Mac follow Apples own instructions.

How to Mirror / Cast from a Mac to a TV

There are a few points to remember when buying a TV and also when trying this out.

  • This should work even if the TV is wired and computer is wireless providing they are both connected to the same network. (In a business centre sometimes you have a VLAN and both devices need to be on the same VLAN. Ask reception.
  • It is best if the TV is connected via a cable. Cables have far higher bandwidth and are more reliable than Wifi, and so to get best results use a network cable on the TV end.
  • Remember that QLED wont suffer as much from burn-in (where a screensaver image still shows up as a shadow if its been left on too long, other screen technology will burn in. Check with the supplier).
