What does Heimdal Patch and Asset Windows Update Management do?
Heimdal Windows update management is part of the Patch and Assets module and it is responsible for installing the latest Windows updates in a quick and timely fashion. One of the most likely ways that you can get a Cyber Attack is by not keeping your computer software up to date. The Patch and Assets module does that automatically so you keep up to date. Have a look at our Cybersecurity page to see far more details about Heimdal Security suite and how it works.
Once it is configured, the Heimdal system installs software each week based on a schedule and then reboots the following day , again based on a schedule.
You will see a pop up message similar to the one below.

Don’t Ignore the message because Heimdal Patch and Asset module will make your computer reboot.
You can delay the reboot up to 3 times, each time by 30 minutes. However on your FOURTH attempt to delay, the system will simply reboot! This gives you time to save work, complete a conference call, return from a break etc but ensures the updates are installed in a timely fashion, and keeps you safe.
How do you make it happen now rather than waiting?
One of our kind customers asked how they make it happen NOW rather than postposing because they delayed it three times just before joining a conference call. 30 mins later the laptop rebooted right at the crucial point in the meeting!
The answer is to not delay it. By default it will reboot NOW if you dont delay it at all.
It’s important that you do complete the update installs. If not your system is at risk. So if you know you have a planned meeting , then reboot before hand rather than postponing. It will avoid embarrassment.
HAPPY COMPUTING!
