This works for any keyboard region, however we were recently stuck because a servers language was set to EnglishUS and we couldn’t type a “£” . It meant we couldn’t enter the password and were in danger of locking the account!
This was backed up by clicking the See password symbol that showed we were typing # instead of £.
One of our admin team pointed out that you can hold down the ALT key and enter the keycode using numeric keys. so for instance £ = ALT + 156
It saved our bacon!
