Alternatively

1. click the “file button”
2. click “Tools”
3. click “Clean-up Old items”
4. select a folder to clean-up (use the mailbox name at the top of the list to select everything)
5. choose an archive file by browsing
6. click “OK”

To open afterwards

1. click the file button
2. click “Open & Export”
3. click “outlook data file”
4. browse to your file and click “open”
5.  you will find the archive on your left hand menu looking like another inbox
6. don’t forget to close it after you finish by right clicking and choose close.
